Bucheon Sejong Hospital and Incheon Sejong Hospital have both been selected as second-term panel hospitals for the government-led Integrated Nursing Care Service. Hyehwon Medical Foundation Sejong Hospital announced on the 24th that the designation followed a review by the National Health Insurance Service.
Incheon Sejong Hospital was selected for a second consecutive term, while Bucheon Sejong Hospital was newly added to the panel. The Integrated Nursing Care Service provides 24-hour inpatient care by professional medical staff, eliminating the need for family members or private caregivers at the bedside. The NHIS selects panel hospitals with exemplary operational experience to help improve the quality of inpatient care—such as ensuring appropriate staffing levels and enhancing ward environments—through the panel hospital program.
Beginning next year, panel hospitals will serve for a two-year term, participating in surveys to establish appropriate staffing standards and in regular meetings to discuss research methodologies and data collection efficiency, thereby contributing frontline perspectives to policy development.
Meanwhile, both Bucheon and Incheon Sejong Hospitals operate all inpatient wards under the Integrated Nursing Care Service model. Their excellence has been widely recognized: in the 2023 Integrated Nursing Care Service Performance Evaluation, the two hospitals ranked among the top five nationwide out of 565 evaluated institutions. They have also consistently earned the highest “A” grade in annual performance evaluations and participated in related support initiatives, including designation as leading hospitals, support for education-dedicated nurses, group training on patient acuity and nursing care needs, and government-funded facility improvement programs.
