Hyehwon Medical Foundation Sejong Hospital announced on the 29th that it has received a donation of KRW 5 million for medical sharing from the Saesaengmyeong Organ Donation Movement Headquarters, an accredited public-interest organization.

The donation ceremony was held on the 27th in Idea Room 1 at the Smart Work Center of Incheon Sejong Hospital. Attendees included Chairman Park Jin-sik of Hyehwon Medical Foundation Sejong Hospital; Min Gil-hyun, Administrative Vice Director of Incheon Sejong Hospital; and Chairman Min Chang-gi and Corporate Director Lee Hee-jun of the Saesaengmyeong Organ Donation Movement Headquarters.

The donated funds were raised through contributions from participants of the Student Scholarship Writing and Drawing Contest commemorating the 8th anniversary of Life-Sharing Week, as well as donations from volunteer executives of Saesaengmyeong and local businesses.

The donation will be allocated to Sejong Hospital’s Medical Sharing Fund 

(Love YES) and used in the future to support transplant surgery costs for patients with organ failure.

Previously, Sejong Hospital and the Saesaengmyeong Organ Donation Movement Headquarters signed a memorandum of understanding last year and have been carrying out various joint initiatives, including mutual support of human and material resources and promotional activities to spread a culture of organ donation. To date, the cumulative amount donated by the 

Saesaengmyeong Organ Donation Movement Headquarters has reached KRW 40 million.

At the ceremony, Min Chang-gi, Chairman of the Saesaengmyeong Organ Donation Movement Headquarters, stated, “We are working with Sejong Hospital on a variety of activities to establish a new culture of life-sharing and bring about changes in social awareness. We will continue to promote the value of sharing and actively support those in need to offer hope.”
